This review is from: Duracell Rechargeable NiMH AA Batteries Pre Charged 4-Pack (Electronics)

The secret to the “pre-charged” or “low self discharge” battery isn’t that they are charged from the factory. I’m a little surprised that this seems to be the major marketing strategy and I think that’s why these slightly more expensive versions have failed to take off.

Anyone who uses standard NiMh’s knows that they have limited possibilities. Anything that drains them fast and allows downtime to recharge, but other than that they are useless. In remotes, clocks, flashlights, etc.. they will just lose their charge before you have a chance to use them. I think one of the most common examples is putting them in a camera and then when you want to get that impulse picture of the baby being cute, the batteries are now dead.

These batteries however will not die on their own. They are ideal for low power long term use. I use them in several clocks and get about a year between charges, and in remotes at least 6 months depending on usage.
